SUHNER Transmission Expert Division team with Global Service

Since the 1st of January 2013, Mr Jürg Suhner has assumed responsibility for the worldwide operations of the SUHNER Transmission Expert Division. SUHNER Transmission Expert resolves problems of Drive Engineering with professionalism and expertise. SUHNER Transmission Expert has established experience in the market, both within the ranges of power transmission independent from angle and axis with flexible shafts, and within range of fixed power transmission with gear wheels.

Global presence
The company guarantees the clientele a global operation with its subsidiary companies – SUHNER Switzerland, SUHNER USA, SUHNER India and SUHNER China. In every headquarters the company produces and converts flexible shafts. So the customers’ needs from global and regional players are considered.

SUHNER Transmission resolves ambitious problems from customers in every different industrial target markets. To accentuate are the divisions Automotive, Aviation and Medical, which have brought in new benefits of innovation. An example of this achievement is the graphic image of one of the flexible shafts in the robot arm of the Mars Rover (picture).

Applied application of different types of flexible shafts
Flexible shafts are the optimal resolution for transmission of rotation forces, which are not possible or commercial on straight axes. It will differentiate between two main groups of flexible shafts. The first are power transmission shafts for higher drive and pure power transmission. The second are torsion strong shafts for mechanical applications with low drive and low rotation. Further there are special shafts, for example hollow shafts, flocked shafts for sound insulation or flank lead cables in combination with gear wheels.
