Ac Variable Frequency Drives

Jeltron Systems offers AC variable frequency drives from Toshiba Corporation of Japan. These are compact, high performance and low acoustic noise drives, available from 0.4 kW to 90 kW in 200 volt, and 0.7 kW to 280 kW in 400 volt ranges. Toshiba's exclusive vector control algorithm is able to produce more than 150 per cent of the rated torque even at low speeds. Also excep- tionally smooth operation is realized by the use of a specialized gate array. Sensorless vector control is also possible on motors other than standard Toshiba motors, because auto-tunning automat- ically corrects the motor parameters required for sensorless vector control. Automatic torque boost facility will improve the drive performance at low speeds. VF A5 model AC drives' design features include IGBT technology, sinusoidal PWM control technol- ogy, high carrier frequency (0.5 to 17 kHz), acceleration and deceleration from 0.1 sec to 6,000 sec, output frequency range from 0.5 Hz to 400 Hz, over loading capacity of 150 per cent for 2 minutes and 215 per cent for 0.5 sec. Standard operation features include automatic torque boost facility, energy saving feature, 5 user selectable control inputs and 2 user selectable control outputs, DC braking, dynamic braking, 15 preset speeds, multiple control inputs like 0-10 V, 4-20 mA and external poten- tiometer, pattern run, provision for external frequency meter or ammeter, along with frequency skip, jog run, auto restart, regen- erative power ride through control, and close loop control with PI control. The model is specially designed with application oriented parameter settings which will be used fully while using on many special applications like textile industries, hoist and lift applications, machine tools, conveyors, etc.
