Arsun Engineers offers a radial drilling machine that is de-signed to offer rigidity, precision and easiness in operation. The machine can drill 40 mm in steel and 50 mm in cast iron. Drilling motor power is 1.5 kW and arm lifting motor power is 0.75 kW. Its major parts, i.e., base-plate, arm, column and column sleeves are of well-ribbed design and rigidly built to withstand static as well as severe dynamic loads. The drill-head comprises of a compact gearbox and a feed-box, fitted with heat-treated alloy steel gears on splined shafts running on anti-friction bearing in an oil bath. These offer 8 speeds from 45 to 1150 RPM and 4 power feeds from 0.05 to 0.2 mm/RPM. A built-in rotary oil pump is provided for continuous lubrication to feed drive mechanism. The spindle sleeve is made of alloy steel, duly hardened and ground. Drilling depth can be pre-set by means of graduated dial, and the auto-feed disengages while reaching the required pre-set depth as well as against too high or abnormal drilling pressure. It engages automatically while the pressure diminishes. The whole drill head is mounted on two heavy-duty ball bearings, which moves on hardened strip fitted on arm upper square guide-way. The drilling radius is 500/1175. The machine is suitable for drilling, tapping and reaming within its full working range and various positions of arm and drill head.
