VRLA Batteries for Cranking/Start-Up

HBL Power Systems has expertise in VRLA batteries (indigenously developed) for various industrial and telecom applications from 1984. With in-house R&D and experience, the company has developed engine starting batteries for main battle tanks and aircraft on-board starting, with thin plate pure lead tin technology. Pure lead tin (PLT) alloy has less corrosion, which results in more life. Thin plate feature of the PLT battery delivers more cranking current, up to 2.5 times for the same Ah rating of the conventional battery. The company has introduced batteries with same PLT thin plate technology under brand name “Ignite” for low, heavy commercial vehicles and heavy earth moving machinery. The product range covers from 12 V 25 Ah to 12 V 160 Ah and conforms to international product standards IEC 60095. The high cranking ability of battery provides an advantage in using a smaller capacity of battery for the same application with less weight. For example: 2 batteries of Ignite 12 V 160 Ah replaces 4 batteries 12 V 180 Ah for the application of 85-tonne dumper equipment. Added advantages are zero maintenance; and requires no specific gravity checks, water top-up, etc. These batteries are delivered in filled and charged condition and have very low self-discharge. High charge retention capability means vehicle can stay idle for longer durations. These batteries are already in use with in Singareni Collieries and other industrial segments for the last 7 years. The customer base includes BEML OE supplies for their dumper and other vehicles like snow cutting equipments, Volvo after market, L&T Komatsu, State road transport segments like APSRTC, KSRTC, etc.
