Gemco Controls is one of the leading manufacturers of industrial automation and power control systems in India. The company manufactures heavy-duty solid state automatic Battery Chargers with high reliability for various critical applications like power stations, railways, emergency supplies, etc. The battery chargers are thyristor controlled with float, boost, trickle charge features and all essential protections. The standard chargers are 30 V, 50 A; 110 V, 200 A; 220 V, 300 A; and constant current charges up to 600 A. Salient features of Gemco thyristor drive panels: mains isolator switch/ACB/MCCB in the incoming AC supply; input AC supply variations up to ±15% permitted; system immune to input supply phase sequence; fully controlled 6-/12-pulse thyristor converters; surge voltage suppression; snubber circuits across each power device provided; high speed fuses for thyristor protection; electronic over current tripping; motor overload protection relay; single phasing protection; field failure protection relay incorporated; blown fuse indication; adjustable current limit 0-150%; gradual acceleration of motor with adjustable ramp time of 2 to 30 seconds; line reactors in each AC line provided for DI/DT protection; over temperature tripping; single plug in glass epoxy PCB with latest electronic circuitry used to give the desired performance; front accessible test points at various stages; electronic LEDs for easy fault diagnostics; front accessible and simple adjustments on the electronic card; use of single card helps reduce down time; selection of voltage or tachogenerator feedback; DC voltmeter/DC ammeter/RPM meter provided on front of panel; eight point LED fault display window on the front of panel; and optional over voltage/under voltage/over speed tripping offered.
