DC/DC Converter

Curtis Instruments Inc has introduced an economical, reliable high frequency DC/DC converter to power auxiliary electrical systems. This new unit, which is completely protected from the environment, is designed for power applications with a requirement of regulated output up to 200 W nominal power. For most electric vehicles, battery voltage is higher than what is needed to power vehicle lights and other low voltage accessories. This Model 1410 converter is configured specifically to step down the battery voltage on electric vehicles. Key features include: mechanical and electrical environmental protection - the unit is waterproof, and short circuit and over temperature protected to ensure reliable performance for all environments; input and output are di-electrically isolated for maximum safety; a maximum pulse power that exceeds 125% of the normal rating; and ease of installation - the unit can be installed in any position because of its high efficiency heat sink design. Suitable for electric vehicles of all types, Model 1410 is available in a range of models to cover 36 V - 72 V input with 12 V - 14 V, or 24 V - 28 V output.
