Polymer quenchant

Shailtex Lubricants offers Polymer quenchant, Shailcon I-93. It is a poly-alkaline glycol based/ water based soluble quenchant. The product, an aqueous solution of a liquid organic polymer and corrosion inhibitor, is further diluted to the working concentration prior to use. Advantages: eliminates fire risks, being itself an aqueous solution and therefore not susceptible to water contamination; and eliminates smoke, soot and oil quenchants residues, making for cleaner working, and easier maintenance. The optimum quenching conditions for a specific material or component may be determined by control of concentration, bath temperature, and/or agitation. It minimises the residual stress, distortion and soft spotting associated with water quenching; produces-clean components ready for further processing; and drag out losses are reduced compared to oil and no degreasing is necessary. Shailcon I-93 is fully soluble in water and easily mixed to the operating concentration, good anti corrosion properties. Application: Shailcon I-93 quenchant is suitable for both ferrous and non-ferrous heat treatment applications.
