Shailnick Chemicals offers Insulation Compounds, Heat Block. It has unique heat absorbing properties, which insulates against heat transfer during welding, soldering, brazing or other heat treatment. It protects closely soldered parts, valve casketing, thin gauge metal, and other materials which could be damaged during repair or installation work. It is used to protect plastic drainpipes in close proximity to metal pipes being replaced or soldered. It prevents distortion to light gauge metals, protects rubber and plastic components, and protects painted or finished surfaces while soldering, brazing or welding. It is non-toxic and it may be formed around or on the surface of metal, or spread onto surfaces, which might be damaged, by heat or flame during welding or soldering. It is easily removed by wiping with wet rags or running water. It is non-flammable and gives off no toxic fumes when exposed to heat. It is packed in 250 and 500 gm, 1 and 4 kg plastic containers. Application: used in welding, automotive, HVAC, plumbing and shipyard industries, as well as other specialised industries. It offers the following benefits in welding: prevents surface discolouration of welded stainless steel; protects surrounding surfaces from flame; prevents damage to valves in close proximity to weld area; and prevents spatter from adhering to surrounding surfaces.
