D A Stuart India Pvt Ltd (a Houghton Company) offers Hot Metal Lubricant™ 7156, which is a heavy-duty, water-based synthetic high-temperature Forging Lubricant. Houghton developed this product as an alternative to graphite-containing products. Hot Metal Lubricant 7156 can be sprayed or swabbed on. It is used on drop hammers, upsetters and mechanical presses. The lubricant contains high-temperature wetting agents and lubricity additives for improved die life. Product details: metals – carbon and alloy steels; usage – spray or swab application; graphite-free; contains high-temperature wetting agents; and improves die life. For decades, Houghton has developed new formulations of forging lubricants that meet changing industry needs and address common operating concerns such as metal flow, residue build-up and die life. Houghton metal forging lubricants can improve die life and provide a cleaner, safer working environment. The high pressures and temperatures generated in the forging process require lubricants that increase the life of machinery, dies and parts while protecting them from corrosion, and improving surface quality.
