Twin strainers

Delhi-based Bhatia Engineering Company manufactures Strainwell brand twin strainers, which permit continuous, uninterrupted flow through both baskets simultaneously, or through one basket while the other basket is removed for cleaning. Pipeline sizes range from 100 to 1600 mm. The inlet and outlet connections are on the centre making the strainer adaptable for installation in a straight pipeline and suitable for 10 kg/cm2 working pressure; but higher-pressure strainer is also available. Each valve is furnished with a hand wheel fastened to a reciprocating screw stem guided at the end with a sleeve. Bleed holes are provided in the sleeve to eliminate any possibility of hydraulic resistance during valve operation. Each valve disc contains resilient sealing rings on both sides to furnish a positive shutoff to either chamber. Easy access openings are provided for inspection or replacement of the valve discs and seal rings. To operate both inlet and outlet valves simultaneously, sprockets and chain can be attached to both valve stems
