Twin strainers

Bhatia Engineering Company offers Strainwell brand twin strainers, which permit continuous, uninterrupted flow through both baskets simultaneously, or through one basket while the other basket is being manually removed for cleaning. Pipeline sizes range from 100 to 1600 mm. The inlet and outlet connections are on the centre making the strainer really adaptable for installation in a straight pipeline, for 10 kg/cm2 working pressure; but higher pressure strainer is also available. Each valve is furnished with a hand wheel fastened to a reciprocating screw stem guided at the end with a sleeve. Bleed holes are provided in the sleeve to eliminate any possibility of hydraulic resistance during valve operation. Each valve disc contains resilient sealing rings on both sides to furnish a positive shutoff of either basket chamber. Easy access openings are provided for inspection or replacement of the valve discs, seal rings, steam, etc. The steam screws operate within a nut and scale sleeve to assure protection from the liquid being strained. This telescopic steam design provides a non rising steam feature which confines the overall steam dimensions to a minimum. To operate both inlet and outlet valves simultaneously sprockets and chain can be attached to both valve stems (supplied optionally).
