Self-Cleaning Strainers

Bhatia Engg Co manufaclures self-cleaning strainers that continuously remove suspended particles from all types of liquids. They find applications in industrial plants that use river, lake, well or seawater for cooling, descaling, lubrication, spraying, and quenching. Liquids other than water, such as chemicals, acids, white water (paper mills), sewage and ammonia flushing liquor (coke plants) can also use these strainers. Installation is made on the discharge side of a pump or in any piping system operating under a positive pressure. The minimum working pressure required to effectively clean the straining media is 1.5 kg/cm2. The strainer housing contains a cylindrical drum rotating on bearings. This drum contains an SS filtering screen which is fixed in position by an SS thrust plate. The outer housing contains two sets of wipe blades placed diametrically opposite each other. These are fixed at 90? to the inlet and outlet and are spring loaded. The wipe blade's covers contain backwash outlet connection with a manually/motor operated valve for discharging dirt into the sewer. The drum is rotated by a drive unit, and is provided with a handle for manual rotation in case of power failure. Pipeline sizes come from 50 to 1,200 mm to suit the requirements.
