Pressure Leaf Filter

Ell Ess Engg's Pressure, Leaf Filter consists of a vertical/horizontal tank with a number of vertically mounted filter leaves. Filtration takes place on either side of the leaf, hence a large effective filtration area can be obta ed in a relatively small vessel. Each leaf has its own filtratel discharge nozzle and placed on the horizontally mounted manifold. These pressure leaf filters are suitable for both direct and precoat filtration. Cakes can be discharged in dry or wet form. Vibrators are used for dry cake discharge in case of vertical pressure leaf filters, and cakes can be removed from the filter tank by a suitably designed butterfly valve or quick opening type discharge gate. For slurry cake discharge, an oscillating sluice pipe is provided above the filter leaves for washing. In the case of horizontal draw-out type pressure leaf filter, entire leaf assembly is drawn out of the body for manual cleaning. Filter opening mechanism is either electrically powered or manually operated. Features include: filter vessels designed as per ASME and other standards; filter vessels are made in SS, CS and MSRL; filter leaves are made either in all metal construction in stainless steel or woven filter cloth on metallic supporting members; filters are suitably designed for dry or wet cake discharge; and design of the filter leaves ensures minimum pressure drop inside the leaves and equal cake deposit all over the leaf.
