Ell Ess Engineering Pvt Ltd has introduced for the first time in the industry back washable Strainer, RIPBAC-Y, to protect pipeline equipments like pumps, nozzles, flow meters and process equipments. The RIPBAC-Y strainer is semi sealed unit with compact design and due to this, the unit need not be opened regularly and can be back washed efficiently using filtrate liquid itself to regain 100% filtration area, which takes only few seconds. The elements are structurally strong and they do not collapse and get damaged during operation and the life is quite high. Brief specifications: size and end connections – 15 NB to 65 NB with screwed and flanged connection; materials of construction – cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, alloy steel; pressure rating – 150# and 300#; element slot – 250 micron and above; pressure drop – -0.02 bar in 100% clean condition; and -0.05 bar in 50% clogged condition. Salient features of the back washable RIPBAC strainers are: works on surface filtration technology; works on clean in place principle; flow of liquid from Out to In direction to element; solids deposited on the screen can be back washed and discharged without opening the strainer; back washing is accomplished by reversing the flow direction; this reduces labour, maintenance and spare part requirement; gives a cleaner floor and surrounding area; and by using RIPBAC the screen gives longer life to filter element.
