It is a gravity type of filter with filter cartridges and drain pot. The cartridges are designed for reuse and hence economical. It optimises the manufacturing process and provides substantial cost savings as well as a more efficient system for a long life. It even acts as a final filter in case of independent applications. It is generally blocked by particles close in size to the pore size. Its life may also be prematurely curtailed by loading with large particles, in these cases pre-filtration is a successful method to postpone filter blockages. Typical uses: drugs and pharmaceuticals, sugar industries, chemical, brewery, fruit processing plants and pre-filter for reverse osmosis units.
