Filter Expression Drier

Filter Expression Drier (FED) is a Nutsche type filter designed to separate solids from liquids. It is totally enclosed and is normally operated under inert gas pressure or under vacuum. Additionally, the equipment is fitted with a spreader mechanism, which efficiently agitates the slurry during cake washing, smoothens and expresses (squeezes) the cake during filtration and assists in the automatic discharge of the cake. Where the FED is operated in the drier mode, the spreader system again efficiently agitates the wet cake to improve upon the heat transfer and to achieve quicker drying times. The FED gives excellent separating qualities with good to medium filtration in optimum time and, if used only for filtration applications, gives the lowest residual moisture in the cake compared to other similar systems.
