Fairey Industrial Ceramics, UK, are specialists in manufacturing porous ceramic media and ceramic membranes for applications like filtration, aeration and diffusion, crossflow micro filtration, etc. These products have controlled pore size distribution, can be used for abrasive applications, can be backwashed, and are steam sterilizeable. Ceramic products are normally chemical inert and can handle acidic gases. They are available for operating temperatures up to 100&176;C since porous ceramics remain stable at elevated temperatures. The maximum temperature at which they can be used is determined by their composition and their firing temperature during manufacturing. The materials are Coralith,Pyrolith, Microlith and Celloton. Each has its unique characteristics and capabilities.
