Porous ceramic media and ceramic membranes are manufactured for applications like filtration, aeration and diffusion, cross flow micro filtration, etc. Products have controlled pores size distribution, can be used for abrasive applications, can be backwashed, steam sterlizeable. Ceramic products are normally chemically inert and can handle acidic gases. They are available for operating temperatures up to 1000 degree Celsius since porous ceramics remain stable at elevated temperatures. The maximum temperature at which they can be used is determined by their composition and their firing temperature during manufacturing. The materials are Coralith, Pyrolith, Microlith and Celloton, each has its unique characteristics and capabilities. Typical industrial applications are in: chemical, fertilisers, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, industrial incineration, beverage/wine/brewery, etc.
