Basket Strainers, Compact

Tristar Engineering & Chemical Company offers compact basket strainers, widely used in the chemical and petrochemical industries for effective filtration of suspended impurities or solid particles from oils, fuels, acids, solvents, water, etc. These strainers operate on the mechanical solid-liquid separation technique, where practically no energy is used. Over the years these strainers have found popular acceptance in industries as a guarantee for smooth flow of fluids and thereby insuring the long life of equipment, pipelines, pumps, valves, control systems, etc. The strainers are ideal for use as "Line Filters" for pipelines of various size and process equipments with the following unique advantages: compact design; positive filtration; larger basket area; degree of filtration; duplex type; standard sizes; and optional features include SS construction, coded vessels, etc. These are available in simplex and duplex construction. Simplex strainer has a single housing with flanged connections suitable for pipelines of 25 to 500 NB. Duplex strainer involves either two identical housings in parallel with three-way valve, or two simplex strainers with 4 individual isolation valves operation. This is suitable for continuous filtration. When one unit is opened for cleaning, the second one operates and vice versa. Standard construction features include rugged carbon steel body with swing bolt and davit arrangements for quick removal of cover. Standard design pressure offered is 5 kg/cm2. Optional features include stainless steel construction, as per ASME codes, higher pressure and temperature design, fitting of differential pressure gauge or electronic clogging indicator, steam jacket or electrical heating, etc.
