Ball Valves, Fire-Safe Type

Asvik Valves offers fire-safe ball valves which meet the test requirements of API 607,4th Edition. In case of a plant fire, the temperature of the system gets elevated to very high levels resulting in the sublimation of PTFE seats-thereby resulting in heavy leakages which may augment the fire. In such an event, use of fire-safe ball valves is desirable. In the fire safe design, a secondary metallic seat is provided. When the downstream PTFE seat gets burnt away, the gap between the ball and secondary metallic seat is so designed that the ball moves slightly towards downstream and takes seating on the secondary metallic seat and seals the flow. Thus fires can be brought under control as further supply of fuel to the fire can be cut off to a very great extent.
