In-Mould Labelling System

The In-Mould Labelling System includes precision-made servo robots, which is designed for the highest performance and shortest overall cycle time of less than 5 seconds and is used in the packaging industry. The labels to be inserted are introduced in stacks to the system and are picked with a pneumatically operated separation unit and presented in a vertical position to the insertion end-of-arm tooling. The insertion of the labels into the cavities on the fixed mould half and the removal of the lids from the moving mould half occur simultaneously by means of pneumatic kick-strokes of the robot in both directions in order to save precious cycle time. The finished parts are handed over to a modified series robot, which stacks the parts on a conveyor belt integrated into the IML system. The user benefits in particular from the ability of the R7 control to multitask, not only the peripheral downstream equipment, but also additional robot mechanics without additional communication interfaces. This vastly simplifies and excels the programming of the various steps and in addition, guarantees highest operating safety and readability of the teach programs.
