Wiped/Agitated Thin-Film Dryer

Alpha Process Engineers offers Wiped/Agitated Thin-Film Dryer (AFTD). Thin-film drying has long been recognised to be an energy-efficient drying unit-operation for separating out dissolved solids from liquid compounds-mix as well as drying out very wet slurries in the process industries. Typical applications include caffeine/condiments in food industry, acetaminophen/penicillin in drugs industry, several fine-chemical products, dyes and dye-intermediates, agro-chemicals, chemical intermediates, etc. Alpen ATFDs come in a spectrum of sizes, tailored to suit application needs of its customers. Capacity is no limitation, considering our design and manufacturing strengths. The designs vary according to the applications. Essentially, these efficient dryers come in horizontal (pre-dominantly) and vertical configurations, with a variety of proprietary wiping and scraping arrangements, accompanied by solvent-recovery systems where required. Internal cleaning system is optionally offered. Offered in compact, maintenance-friendly design, the principal benefits to the customer include short residence-time with high heat-transfer rates, minimal product hold-up, good dry product, low-operating costs, high energy-efficiency with attendant low-energy costs. Alpen ATFDs are very appropriate for heat-sensitive products too.
