Worm Reduction Gearboxes

CPEC Ltd manufactures worm reduction gearboxes in 14 different sizes based on centre distance. Each size has 12 different ratios. These gearboxes are capable of transmitting power from fractional HP to 165 HP. The design of the parameters of worm and worm wheels are in accordance with BS:721-1963. Centre distances of the worm and wheels range from 1.125"to 17.00"and ratios from 5:1 to 70:1. In order to achieve greater reduction ratios, two units can be combined to get ratios up to 4900:1.Worm reduction gearing connects non-intersecting shafts normally at right angles embodying a worm and a worm wheel. The design of the worm which embodies the inherent quality of sliding velocity, interacts with the peripheral velocity of the worm wheel to give an optimum output torque commensurate with the least possible frictional losses. The worm is made of case-hardened steel and the worm wheel is manufactured from high grade Superholfos centrifugally cast phosphor-bronze.
