Contact Wheels

Prem Brothers International Pvt Ltd offers a range of Contact Wheels and idler pulleys. Contact wheels are normally made from aluminium casting with a cast iron bore. This CI bore retains it’s size much longer that it’s aluminium counterpart. Plain face contact wheel: this is best suited for very fine polishing with maximum contact area and lowest unit grain pressure. Serrated contact wheel: serration or slots produce alternate land and grooves across the face of the contact wheel; and ratio of groove to land, depth of groove, shape of land and hardness of wheel play important role in cutting action of coated abrasives. Hardness: density of contact wheel can be controlled; hardness has great deal to do with stock removal and coarseness of finish. Contact wheels can be made from 40°-45° Shore (soft) to 85°-90° Shore (hard) materials as per job requirements. The effect of the groove-land ratio is due to its multiplying the pressure applied on the work piece by lessening the contact area, with a resultant increase of unit pressure on abrasive grain.
