Gleason Works (India) offers a Bevel Gear System, Cyclocut™ jobbing method for soft cutting and skiving of bevel gears. The new Gleason Cyclocut™ Pentac® Bevel Gear System offers new possibilities for soft and hard cutting of small batches of pinions and gears: high flexibility and low investment in cutting tools; very economical for small batches; same machine and cutterhead is used for soft cutting and skiving; efficient and environmentally friendly high speed dry PowerCutting®; optimal soft surface preparation with Gleason "semi-finish-strategy"; dry skiving is also possible; cost effective carbide stick blades for soft cutting and skiving; highest skiving tool life due to one piece cutter with stiff Pentac blade seating and T-Land design; closed loop networking including corrections from measurement; and contact development software requires roll testing only. If the users’ bevel gear geometry of choice is the epi-cycloid or if they are only looking for a flexible jobbing method which allows a defined hard finishing, Cyclocut delivers the answers to such manufacturing needs. Only 5 outside and 5 inside blades have to be prepared for the cutting of one member.
