Alligator Automations Unveils Rs 0.4 Bn Pune Facility for Global Scale

Alligator Automations has inaugurated its new manufacturing unit in Pune with an investment of Rs 0.4 billion. This expansion marks a significant step towards the company’s core vision of building an Indian engineering organisation that supplies world-class machines to global markets. With this launch, the company’s overall production capacity is expected to increase threefold.

The new unit is designed to strengthen India’s position in the global automation ecosystem. With an annual production capability of Rs 5–6 billion, the facility enables complete turnkey projects to be engineered, assembled, tested, and dispatched from India to customers worldwide. It plays a critical role in reducing reliance on imported robotic systems and positioning India as a major contributor to global automation supply chains.

Srinivas Choudhary, Founder & CEO of Alligator Automations, said, “This new plant is a major milestone in our journey to build an engineering company of global scale and global standards from India. We are committed to replacing imports, strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem, and delivering complex automation solutions that compete with the best in the world. With this expansion, we are not only enhancing our capacity but also reinforcing our belief that Indian engineering can lead on the global stage.”

Equipped with advanced fabrication lines, a modern powder-coating facility, automated storage systems with capacity for over 100 tonnes of inventory, and a 100,000 sq ft assembly area, the new unit is built for scale and efficiency. Six loading bays, five 7.5-tonne cranes, and a fully digital paperless workflow allow the company to run 15–20 large projects simultaneously, including turnkey lines up to 80 metres.

By integrating fabrication, coating, quality checks, stores, and assembly under one roof, the company expects to reduce delivery timelines by nearly 20 per cent and improve production accuracy. The facility is also projected to increase exports by 30 per cent and generate more than 400 jobs in India and 100 abroad over the next three years.

With this expansion, Alligator Automations strengthens its position as India’s largest end-of-line packaging and robotic automation company, advancing its mission to deliver world-class engineering from India to the world.
