These Maxitorq brand DC operated clutches and brakes are generally used in the machine tools industry. These are a direct replacement for popular Siemens and Stromag make multi-plate clutches and brakes. These kinds of clutches and brakes are available both in slip-ring type and stationary field type of electrical connections. The quality of clutches and brakes is excellent, with the electrical coil being fully encased in a vibration proof epoxy resin, with ‘F’ class insulation. The crucial clutch plates are made from high grade spring steel, specially hardened for longer life and low wear rate. The plates are manufactured using very accurate laser cutting machines to give precise accuracy and unmatched performance.
