EM Fail Safe Brake, Type AC

MOD E-Tech Engineering manufactures AC operated electromagnetic spring applied Fail Safe Brake, Type AC, made with Italian collaboration and design of Temporiti Srl. This is normally On (applied), and when AC voltage is applied, it is released, thus allowing the shaft on which it is mounted to rotate. In case of no voltage, the brake is applied immediately and the rotating shaft on which the brake is mounted is held immediately. This also forms a safety mechanism in which the load is stopped from being moved in case of no power. The brake can be mounted either on the back side of an electric motor or an any other driven shaft which is to be braked. It can be supplied with mounting flange for ease of fitment and with manual hand release for releasing the brake without power. These brakes are available in various sizes and capacities from torque of 4.5 Nm up to 150 Nm. The brakes are interchangeable as far as mounting with most other DC brakes. Thus replacement on existing motors where old DC brakes are fitted can be done easily as well as fitting either DC or AC brakes on the motor can be done at the last moment without much effort as per the customers’ requirement. Other features are strong structure, quiet operation (<70dBA), simple assembly and installation, aluminium pressure die cast housing and very good heat dissipation, adjustable torque, optional manual release and dust seal, epoxy resin bonded vibration proof coil, Class ‘F’ insulation, metal parts rust protected, options of friction plate and mounting flange, IP 64 protection against dust and water sprinklings, etc.
