DC ELECTROMAGNETIC BRAKES

Speed-O-Controls offer DC Electromagnetic Brakes. It is suitable for 220 V DC supply for a wide range of drum sizes for 100 to 800 mm diameter. It is used when a load must be stopped rapidly to prevent the load from rotating due to the motor and load inertia at a selected predetermined time or at a selected point of travel or to prevent over-travelling. Features: robust construction and simple design; reliable braking action, efficient transmission of breaking force and action; brake shoe designed for 70° angle for easy replacement without dismantling; all parts are easily accessible hence ensures quick maintenance; and ease of adjustment of torque quickly by adjusting nut. Magnet and coil: brakes are provided with powerful, short stroke electromagnets. The magnetic gap is adjusted by holding the end lock nut. Brake coils are provided with epoxy encapsulated coil with class "F" insulation. Other technical data: Class of insulation of coil - "F", and insulation voltage - 660 V.
