Air diffusers

Aeration is the most important activity in any aerobic biological treatment system used for sewage and wastewater/effluent. The efficiency of activated sludge system depends primarily on the effective transfer of oxygen from air to water. Surface and floating mechanical aerators have been the standard equipment used so far. Efficient units like rigid tube and membrane diffusers are now available which operate at higher SOTE. With energy costs going high and approximately 75% of the total power in any treatment plant is consumed by the aeration system, it is all the more necessary to install energy efficient products. This is where Ultrapure Technology and Appliances India Ltd, a Delhi based company has introduced the semi flexible air diffusers from Dryden Aqua, Scotland. These are amongst the most robust arid versatile, fine bubble diffusers available commercially. They are more effective in providing a greater mixing action and aeration efficiency. The diffusers are semi flexible by design, and have their own ballast and will stay at the bottom of the tank without the need to secure/anchor them to the bottom. In general, the advantages of Dryden Aqua air diffusers are: semi flexible-very versatile-can take any shape; high SOTE; has its own ballast, hence lower system installed cost; 100% access to all components in the system; making it easy to install and maintain, without the need to de-water the tank; and can be supplied with built-in non return facility. It comes in 32 mm dia and varied length, from 1 mtr up to 15 mtrs. This gives the advantage of flexible layout of diffusers inside the tank.
