Smisen Controls offers a range of aluminium housed Wire Wound Braking Resistors. These are characterised by a combination of lightweight, compact dimensions and high energy absorption capacity. They are made from elements that have a high overload capacity and that cool rapidly. By connecting multiple compact resistors in series, resistor units with higher capacities are available.
Range – 50 W-8 kW; resistance material – high grade alloy – FeCrAl; operating temperature – -55°C to +275°C for 1 min; insulation resistance – > 1000 M ? at 500V; standards – IEC 61180-1 and IEC 60068-1; dielectric strength – no breakdown at 2.5 kV AC RMS; and short time overload – 2 x wattage rating for 10 sec.
