The Vibration Monitor has data collection capability. It is a pocket-sized data collector. It is compact and weighs 70 gm. Its unit is capable of measuring low/ high-frequency RMS vibration velocity; high-frequency peak acceleration; and casing temperature. It is a digital unit with a 3-1/ 2-digit LCD display with backlight. It has a built-in memory capacity of 100 measured readings. It has a built-in IRDA compatible serial infrared port to communicate with a PC. It facilitates the download of the memory content on the PC without having any special software. The downloaded data on the computer can be accessed in the spreadsheet software such as Lotus or Excel, etc. The vibration pickup employed is a shear type piezoelectric accelerometer. The pickup is integrated on the meter for safe and easy measurement.
It is an ideal tool for predictive maintenance of various defects such as: bearing defects, gear damage and wear, valve leaks, unbalanced rotation, parts misalignment, oil whipping, etc.
