Variable Speed Fixed Centre Drives

Variable Speed Fixed Centre Drives

Deepak Drives has developed variable speed fixed centre drives for use on printing, packaging, and pharmaceutical machines, conveyor belts, machine tools and other applications where higher ratios and compact size form the main criteria. The fixed centre drive consists of two variable speed pulleys and a variable speed belt. One pulley is mechanically adjustable and the other is spring loaded. The mechanically adjustable pulley is mounted on the driving shaft, usually an electric motor or any other power source. The spring loaded pulley is mounted on the driven shaft. Variation of the output speed is obtained by means of the screw spindle provided on the mechanically adjustable pulley. The characteristics of the spring loaded pulley is such that an ideal pressure is exerted on the variable speed belt ensuring maximum power transmission. Wide speed of ratios up to 1:6 is achieved. Both the pulleys are plated giving the drive exceptional wear and corrosion resistance and partial lubricating properties. The pulley is dynamically balanced, bores are pre-broached to H7 tolerance, and keyways to IS:27 10. These drives can be mounted in both U as well as Z arrangements.
