Universal Tools has introduced solid carbide burnishing drills and reamers ranging from 0.5 to dia 70 in solid carbide and 2 to 75 mm dia in through coolant design. The advantages of using burnishing drills are: these do not require reaming subsequently; finishing can be achieved directly; almost all materials can be machining with different geometries and long holes can be machined and for burnishing reamers; super finish can be achieved eliminating grinding operation; and the differential uni burnishing geometry for burnishing reamer offers super finishing operation for high speed machining. The company spends a large portion of turnover in R&D and has dedicated production facilities.
