Tilt Switch
Tilt switch probe is an electro-mechanical switch. The basic purpose of the tilt switch range is that when load discharge flowing through the retractable chute forms a pile and reaches up to the lower segment where any of the tilt probe gets deflected to a desired degree for a period covering nuisance time, the tilt sensing relay generates a signal and activates a chute rising drive. The chute rises to next segment and stops by suitable rotary gear cam switch and in the meanwhile the tilt probes again remains free. Similarly during the course of further rising of the stockpile any one of the tilt probes gets deflected actuating further rising movement. Tilt switches are provided with simple high and low alarm for both dry bulk solids and liquids. The rugged, stainless steel encapsulated probe is suspended vertically over a bin or belt and the potted switch inside the probe provides a signal when material tilts it through an angle of more than 15-20° from vertical in any direction.
