IWA/Environment offers Polynum, a high performance Thermal Insulation Medium. In hot climate, or summer seasons, or in tropical weather, during daylight hours, there is a constant process of heat accumulation in the building’s external elements, which are exposed to the sun’s radiation and to external temperatures. The accumulated heat is emitted into the building causing the temperature inside to rise. For most buildings, which use conventional insulation, this heat remittance process would continue also during night hours. Insulating a building, with mineral substances, e.g., fibreglass, rockwool or plastic substance, delays the heat flow into the building, depending on the thickness and density of the substance. This means that heat is accumulated during the day in the outer layers of the building and in the insulation material and is emitted into the building during the night. A similar process occurs in winter but then the heat flow is from the inside to the outside. Polynum is a low volume, high performance insulation medium that combines the technology of reflective air space with a low emittance, sealed air, thermal conduction barrier. Polynum is a safe, non-toxic fibre free insulation medium designed to out perform many conventional mineral and fibre based insulation materials. Polynum is not affected by humidity and excels in high and low temperature applications.
