Powermatic Engineers offers high speed tapping machines. Model PT-5 is a sophisticated machine backed by decades of manufacturing experience in the engineering industry. It has a compact design and excellent finish. Selected materials of construction, advanced manufacturing techniques, rigid standard of inspection and tests have made this a highly productive machine. This is most suitable for applications in transistor radio sets, telephone instruments, switchgear, scientific instruments, and PCBs, etc, for the electronics industry. Tapping capacity is 5 mm in stainless steel and 7 mm in cast iron and alloy metals. Other specifications: distance between spindle centre to column face - 104 mm; max distance between tap to table face - 140 mm; diameter of column - 46.75 mm; number of spindle speeds - 8; range of spindle speeds 590-1680 RPM; and, electric motor - 0.5 HP, 1,440 RPM.
