Aromat Corporation offers UZB super-slim photoelectric sensors that stand just 1/8"thick, have a footprint of 1/4"square and are said to be the industry's smallest. They can sense objects as small as 1 mm from a distance of 2 mm, with a maximum sensing distance of 500 mm; response time is 0.5 msec. They are water-proof, operate ftom -25%C to +55%C, and withstand 1,000 V AC for one minute and repeated 500 m/sec2 shock impulses.
