Suntek Services offers a Spark Monitoring System for “trouble-free” operation of DC motors, manufactured by from M/s Showa Sokki Corporation, Japan. This system monitors the commutator sparks of various electric motors and judges the spark-number. It uses a flame sensor (UV Tron) to reliably detect weak ultraviolet light. The manufacturer is specialised in vibration gauges, which are required in all fields including motor vehicles, railroad wagons, aircraft, ships, and other means of transportation, turbines, power generators, motors, pumps, compressors, and other plant-related rotary machines, along with machine tools, medical equipment, home electronics, and architectural structures. The flame sensor is installed on the DC motor and on the blooming mill motor. The instrument is available ex-stock.

Specifications of Sensor unit:

  • Detector – UV Tron R9533 (Hamamatsu Photonics K.K.)
  • Supply voltage – 400 V DC max, adjustable from 0 to max by gain control at the amplifier side
  • Directivity – max 45°
  • Life time – 10,000 hours (when it is used at 25°)
  • Connection cable – 4-core shielded cable with a glass fibre tube protection
Specifications of Amp unit:
  • Input signal – 0-5 V, pulse signal
  • Input channel – 2 channel input
  • Sensor power supply – UV Tron
  • Drive power supply – 400 V DC max
  • Gain control – high voltage for the 2 channel UV Tron drive can be adjusted from 0 to max
  • By counting the pulses generated in 100msec, it is converted to spark-number corresponding to each program
  • Spark-number display – 7-segment LED 1 digit, spark-number from 1 to 8 is displayed at the channel selected by input switching
  • Program switching – NKF5AA, NKF5A12A, NKF5A14A, NKF5A18A selectable
  • BCD output display – spark-number can be output with 0-5 V BCD, D0 (LSB) D3(MSB)
  • Analog output – spark-number can be output as D/A with 1/256 resolution
  • DC1V ~ 8V/1 number ~ 8 number
  • OK monitor – after monitoring system, the LED turns on if all items are normal
  • Power input – AC85V ~ AC264V, 10 VA max AC inlet.
