Solid Handling Pump Series
HMP Manufacturing & Services offers solid handling pump series, Model NCS. Applications: HMP NCS pumps are suitable for abrasive or corrosive slurries, sewage and waste water, viscous and contaminated liquids containing fibrous materials, soft solids in suspension, sludge's and pulpy materials in sugar factories sewage pumping stations, chemical, fertilizer, paper and pulp, cement and steel industries. Constructional features: single stage, end suction solid handling pumps; back pullout design and some models generally conform to DIN 24252 standard; and can be offered with quick handling inspection cover as an optional feature. Casing: split readily and is of the ring volute type with a large area to permit free passage of solids in suspension. Impeller: single end suction type, two vane enclosed impeller are provided with back vanes which maintain low stuffing box pressure and balancing of axial thrust. Shaft: normally made of high tensile steel, SS shafts can be supplied upon request. Sealing: shaft sealing by water or grease, sealed and packed stuffing box. Mechanical seal can be provided in the same housing upon request. Bearing housing: a very liberal bearing span to impeller overhang ratio provided. This ensures minimum shaft deflection and long life of gland packing. Direction of rotation: clockwise when seen from driving end. Materials of construction: NCS pumps are available in different combinations of cast iron, bronze, phosphor bronze, SS, alloy 20, hastelloy, Ni-hard and Ni-chrome and other special metals depending on the liquids handled. Wear plate: adjustable wear plates can be provided as an optional feature. The gap between the impeller and the wear plate can be adjusted to a maximum wear and tear of 4 mm. It means the pump will perform with the same efficiency even after the completion of its 90% of it's life.
