High-temperature industrial workers, like those working near furnaces, are commonly exposed to a variety of dangerous hazards including extreme radiant heat, scalding surfaces, sharp metal, broken glass, high voltage electricity and toxic chemicals. These hazardous conditions are sometimes compounded by noise, debris and grease or obscured by soot, smoke and poor lighting.
