Resistance Temperature Detectors
Resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) offer complete protection from burning of motor winding. Features: various lead lengths and colour codes of wires can be supplied; customised designs and enclosures; and ex-stock delivery of standard models. The RTDs are available in various dimensions right from small bead type sensors to plate type RTDs. The BTDs (bearing temperature detectors) are manufactured as per customer requirements. Applications: the RTDs and BTDs can be used for continuous temperature indication and monitoring for the following: AC motors, DC motors, AC generators (alternators) and transformers. Initially Insta Control manufactured thermistor protection relays and supplied these to panel manufacturers and end-users. Thereafter the company started processing motor protection PTC thermistors for electric motor manufacturers in India and some European and Asian countries. Later, it added to its portfolio overheat protection for single phase motors, fractional horsepower motors (FHP), transformers and other equipment, and thermal switches (TOPs). RTDs and BTDs are the latest addition, catering to the temperature indication requirements in AC motors; generators and transformers of higher ratings.
