- With radax SM 5000 one can detect and monitor gamma radiation from radio-active materials and x-ray machines; check for leakage radiation radax SM5000 uses a geiger-mueller (GM) detector tube to detect radiation
- The GM tube contains ionisation gas which generates pulse of electrical current when radiations pass through the gas and causes ionisation
- These electrical pulses are counted electronically and are termed as counts per minute (CPM) or they are displayed in milli-roentgens per hour (mR/Hr.).
