The stress cone is basically designed for 33 kV. The specially designed stress cone has a high resistant insulating section vulcanised to a semi conducting section. It results in optimum combination of both impulse strength of the terminations and field grading of the outer semi conducting screen edge. Semi conducting pad with cold flow properties makes it a perfect connection between screen and the cone. Termination is of a kind which can be easily re-opened and removed from XLPE core and reused with addition of few minor components.
