Indian Valve was formed in 1970, following the closure in India of Glenfield and Kennedy Limited, a renowned hydraulic valve manufacturing company of Scotland. Using knowledge gained in the years before promoting IVC, the promoters were able to quickly establish a reputation of its own. Hydraulically operated pump discharge valve is used essentially after the pump for regulation and in the event of pump trip, as a non return valve, 90% of the valve disc closure being attained within 5 to 10 seconds and the remaining within 20 to 60 seconds, all adjustable vis-à-vis the system. The valve is essentially a rubber seated butterfly generally conforming to BS-5155 (BS EN) in SG iron construction with a stainless steel (AISI 431) shaft riding on PTFE lined stainless steel bearings. A suitable ballast weight and lever arm is provided.
