MEC Shot Blasting Equipments offers inline Surface Treatment Systems (STS) in preservation line for marine industries. In shipyards or marine industries, bulk sizes of steel plates and structures are used. As the ships have to float on seawater the hull and sidewall's steel structure remain dipped in salty water of the sea. Increasing the resistance of these structures requires special engineering techniques. The system includes pre-heat treatment for plates, blast cleaning chamber, blow off chamber, painting chamber with flash off zone for drying and baking chamber for baking the primed surface of thick plates. The electrically operated convection heating oven, with open ends to facilitate entry and exit of thick plates, is suitable for continuous operation, and maximum heating up to temperature of 60°C. The steel plates pass through inward tunnel and enter into the blasting chamber. A number of blast wheel stations are located strategically around the cabinet firing shots on the components. The plates are shot blasted homogeneously on all sides. A blower constantly blows-off the abrasive accumulated on the blasted plates. The air washed and duly shot blasted plates come out from the tunnel to get painted in the online painting chamber. The semi down draft paint spray chamber is suitable for conventional, airless and electrostatic spray painting. It consists of painting chamber, inlet air filter, paint trap filters, axial flow fan, electric motor, duct and canopy, etc. As the job passes through paint booth on slat conveyor, the reciprocating painting guns mounted on X manipulator will paint the plates from both sides. The complete process is PLC controlled for various parameter and repeatability of the process. The system is environment friendly.
