CISS, the independent ASIC design house presents the C1401 OP, the second member of the Edison Chip family, which has been especially designed for power/energy measurement tasks in industrial and household applications. The IC measures voltages and currents in single and three phase power networks at nominal frequencies between 16 2/3 Hz and 400 Hz. It calculates the active power and active energy (imported and exported). The product includes a programmable interface which provides a simple way to calibrate the measured data and to adjust the parameters of Wattmeter Constant (impulses/ kWh) and starting current. Three pulse output signals provide information on the imported and exported energy as well as controlling the monitoring LED.
