Rudrashakti Electronics offers sophisticated automatic power factor (PF) correction relays –PF/KVAR controller, Models PFR 941 and PFR 942 with built-in digital PF meter. Model PFR 941 is used in power factor improvement schemes having equal KVAR capacitor steps, while Model PFR 942 is best suited for control panels with unequal KVAR capacitor stages. These instruments find usage and application in all segments of industry – automobile factories, cement plants, chemical and fertilizer plants, ferrous and non-ferrous metal industries, defence establishments, airports, infrastructure industry, pharmaceutical plants, health and hospitality industries, etc., small or big. These controllers are useful in maintaining PF of electrical systems subjected to frequent load variation, and are easy to install and commission. Benefits of PF/KVAR are two-fold – (1) Avoiding any penalties that some electrical distribution utilities impose for not maintaining requisite PF levels, and (2) Optimisation of maximum kVA demand. There are several interesting features in these controllers. A built-in self-test facility provides for checking calibration and operation of the relay without external load. An error-function indicates external wiring connection errors. The controllers function normally even at low operating loads and the operation is free from spurious surges and harmonics. The other built-in features include no-volt release and over-voltage indication. The company offers lead PF control type APFC relays suitable for wind power generation utilities. It also manufactures digital PF meter, and digital panel meters for monitoring electrical parameters like kW, kVA, kVAR, V, A, Hz. It can also supply power factor correction relays in compact 96 x 96 mm front configuration.
