Gannon Dunkerley & Co offers a powder thickness gauge, Model Elcometer 550, from Elcometer Instruments Ltd. This is an easy to use, portable coating thickness gauge calibrated to measure uncured powder coatings on a range of substrate materials. Simply point the probe at the surface to be measured and press the button. LEDs help the user to position the probe, when in position thickness readings are taken automatically. When the measurement is completed the display shows the thickness of the predicted, cured coating after polymerisation, in either microns or mils (thou).Features: measures before curing; non destructive; accurate; simple, quick measurements; fully portable and easy to use; no contact between the probe and the uncured powder; rechargeable battery power supply; LED indicators to show when the probe is positioned; metric and English units; and calibration standard supplied.
