PMMA Fibre Optic Lightguides

PMMA Fibre Optic Lightguides

Epsilon Controls & Automation offers PMMA fibre optic lightguides. Optical fibres are generally drawn from glass plastic and synthetically fused silica, often called silica or quartz fibre. Generally speaking, glass fibre is the best choice for illumination and sensing applications. Plastic fibre is a good choice for applications not having ambience above 70?C because of its lower cost and ease of assembly. For data communication, silica fibre is a great choice. The company specialises in producing lightguides from glass and plastic fibres for industrial and medical applications. The company has state-of-the-art machinery and equipment for assembly, polishing, and quality checking. Besides standard products, it also assembles non-standard and customised fibre optic cables recreated from customer's samples or drawings, and undertakes repair of fibre optic cables. General characteristics of plastic lightguides and fibres: fibre dia ? 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 3.0 mm; numerical aperture ? 0.50 NA; operating temperature ? up to 70?C; LG dia ? as required; LG lengths ? standard 1 feet and 1 metre (max up to 25 metres); types ? individual, bifurcated, multicated, ring and line; end coupling ? aluminium, brass, stainless steel or customised; coupling type ? straight-unthreaded or threaded, angled ? unthreaded or threaded or customised; and sheathing ? PVC, silicone, SS monocoil, SS interlock, SS interlocked, with PVC or silicone layer or customised. Speciality of Epsilon lightguides: high resolution, fine inner fibres for extremely small bending radius, auxiliary optic usable, high quality polished or razor cut fibre terminations and light weight and ideal for visible wavelength transmission.
